For the third and final time, I'm lacing up my dancing shoes.
On November 10-12, 2017 over 4,000 people will gather in IU's Tennis Center at the 2nd biggest student-run philanthropy in the nation and stand for 36 hours to raise money for the kids at Riley Hospital for Children. With 25% of the funds supporting clinical programming and 75% supporting research, every dollar raised truly is For The Kids.
I've had a lot of influence for why I dance since starting IUDM, but it truly comes down to the hope it brings. Regardless of the numbers raised at the end of dance marathon, each and every individual in the tennis center is a part of raising an unquantifiable amount of hope for the kids and families at Riley Hospital for Children.
This year, I have the honor of serving as Director of Hospital Relations and working with 82 amazing HeRoes on the committee. Hospital Relations is responsible for educating the community on the interworkings at Riley Hospital for Children and has the oppportuntiy to host events at the hospital such as NICU Baby Showers and Ronald McDonald House meals! We even organize a sky dive event where IU students strap teddy bears to their chests, go sky diving, and make the bear the bravest bear in the world to give to the children at Riley. I participated in it last year with my sister Annie and brother Nick! You can watch my jump video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiSwiPlo_K4
This year, I have the lofty goal of raising $6,000 For The Kids. This was my goal last year, and I was dollars away from achieving it. With this being my last year of IUDM, I am deteremined to give all I can to this organization and exceed this goal! Thank you for reading my fundraising page and taking a moment to learn about IU Dance Marathon and Riley Hospital for Children.
